There are a few pros in the new Health bill that would affect me. I will be able to stay under my parents Health coverage until I am 26 years old. My parents will no longer have to pay co-pay or any part of my doctor visits. I can also get vaccines and other medical procedures without worrying whether or not I could pay for it. This will also keep illegal immigrants from taking advantage of our Medicaid because they are not eligible. The Affordable Care Act puts people in charge not the government which gives families and individuals that don’t have access to affordable coverage can receive tax credits to help them purchase coverage in the private health insurance market. One con I could find is how much it will cost. It will cost 940 billion dollars over 10 years, that means America would have to pay 94 billion per year.

I like the idea that there had been a change in the health care of Americans, however my question for Obama and the legislators (who get paid way too much money for “changing the way money is distributed”) is how in the world are we going to pay for the millions of Americans who are and will use this new system, but cannot afford it due to lack of employment. I don’t currently understand how Obama ORIGINALLY said he was not going to raise taxes as a “plus” to get elected into office. Now he’s saying that he will raise taxes on the rich and destroy the money that they earned. OBAMA LIES OUT OF HIS TEETH! Obama has included in this new health care plan that unearned income WILL BE taxed in 2012. For people who get workman’s compensation, VA, etc., they will not be getting the FULL paycheck in 2012. This means money that you do not go to work and get paid for what you do, all that money will be taxed. Even your investments will be taxed! Obama said he will not induce anymore taxes and raise anymore taxes. He is lying!
Most people do not realize how important and how all the tweaks will affect them in the future. There are so many little taxes most people have never even heard of and now Obama is going to make them hurt us!
I do like the idea of letting anyone who needs health care for any reason use the ER because some people cannot afford any part of bills that burden you for your life. Although some of the ideas implemented for everyone are great, how do we afford it as a country? We are in trillions of dollars in debt right now. It will take many years to escape the burden of debt.
Employers are now requires by Obama’s new health care plan to provide health insurance to their employees. If they don’t they must pay $2000 for each employee not covered each year.
Obama may be a human he does not do what he ORIGINALLY said he was going to do!
With this new bill, I think that there would be alot more pros than cons for me in the future. First of all, it will lower the costs of insurance and enhance the quality of healthcare for America. Before the new law, cancer patients would sometimes live with out care or treatment due to a lifetime limit on the coverage. With the new bill, this shouldn't happen anymore. Insurance companies will not be able to cancel your coverage when you are the sickest because of a mistake on your application. A pro in which people from my generation might like is that we can stay under our parent's coverage plan until we are 26, unless they offer coverage at your job. For me, the Air Force would have taken care of that. For children under the age of 19, with a pre-existing condition, like Down Syndrome, will never be denied health insurance with the new bill in effect. Before, tens of thousands of families were denied health insurance because their child had a pre-existing condition. With the new bill comes myths that many Americans aren't sure about. The bill will not use tax money to pay for abortions, except it is due to rape or incest. It will also not be available to illegal immigrants that come to our country. With all of this money going around, the new bill will be taking a new tax in order to pay for all of this. It is called the Medicare Payroll Tax, which will take effect in 2012. There are two more taxes called the Excise Tax and the Tanning Tax. Both, in which, will take effect in 2018. As of right now, it will cost about 940 billion dollars over ten years to pay this off. With all of these new taxes taking place soon, our economy should grow and our healthcare should be able to provide for everybody in the United States.

I think the Health bill would affect alot of people. It has the cost of $940 billion over ten years to pay for. Where do you think they would get the money from...... us, the people. they would use taxes to pay for it. Most people don't have that kind of money but, it can help those type of people. It would benefit them by insuring that they can pay for health care even though they can't pay for it.
In my opinion I think that the health reform is ridiculous. I believe that it is not the government’s job to provide health care. Their jobs are to provide security, keep order, provide services, and to guide the community. Guiding the community means managing the economy, and by forcing everybody to get health care it is wasting more money on the economy. CBS states that the money used for this reform won’t come from our taxes, but then where does it come from? CNN states that the average individual will pay 2.35 % of his wages. But, I think that the people should have their own choice on whether or not they would like to purchase health care. The only positive thing that I can think of about this new reform is how it stops illegal immigrants from taking advantage of purchasing health care. But like I stated earlier, I just believe that it’s not the government’s place to try to provide everybody health care.

I think it will be a good thing for my family and I cause right now me and my brother is on my moms insurance so we can go to the hospital when we are hurt,go to the eye center and etc.Plus we would definetly need it so we do not have to pay some much money for one thing. And for Americans, it will probably be tougher cause of taxes, bills, and payments houses or apartments. And they would need medicaid, shots, and every single thing that the americans need. And there are alot of people in hospitals, homeless shelters, nursing homes, and facilitys that need the health bill cause they really need it so they can get alot better, so they be sick for a long period of time.
I believe that the intentions of the new Health Care Bill are good; especially for those who are not wealthy and are battling diseases, disabilities, and so forth. It actually gives them a FAIR choice. For example, before the passing of the Health Care Bill, their “choices” were either to drown in debt from hospital bills or die. To me, these aren’t even choices. Eventually, the first “choice” would probably lead to the second one. Now that the Bill has been passed, more people have the chance to live. Everyone deserves the right to the pursuit of happiness, liberty, and most importantly, LIFE. Isn’t that what America’s all about?? The only problem that I can find with the Health Care Bill is its cost. It has been stated, that over ten years the Bill will cost a total of $940 billion. The government has tried to say, that the Health Care Bill would reduce the deficit by $143 billion, the first ten years. However, that still leaves billions of dollars that STILL have to get paid off.

I think this health care bill holds a lot of pros and cons for me in the future. It would also help a lot of people and my family. It would allow me to get doctor appointments and visits without worrying about the cost or anything. This would include vaccines, medical procedures ect. Kids with Down syndrome or any other defect would have no problem getting help from the hospitals. The cons in this situation would be paying 940 billion over ten years. Meaning America would almost be broke. With this bill going into effect this should bring up our economy and health care should be provided for everybody in the U.S.

My views on the new health care plan that president Obama passed over 6 months ago might be the best bill ever passed in history. It states that this year children age 26 and younger will be able to remain covered under their parents health insurance plans (this is increased from the past age limits which were anywhere from age 22-25.) Also enables the medicare recipient to receive a $250 rebate to help in closing the “doughnut hole” ( with the goal to close the doughnut hole completely by 2020.) Next year, senior citizens enrolled in Medicare Advantage or the Prescription Drug Plan will receive a 50% discount on brand name drugs immediately with additional prescription drug discounts to follow.
I believe the new health care bill is an excellent idea. For America this is a big step because the health here could be compared to someone who's not in this country because most Americans cant afford to go to the hospital when there sick or hurt or just for a normal check up. With this new bill, now everybody in America could go and get the services they need. There's only one problem. This its were most American's have there concerns. Will there be a raising on takes? Yes there would be, but the new raising of taxes wont hit for another three years for richer American families and for the middle class families in four years. Even when the taxes hit this bill will still be affective because the government is expanding medicaid for all families, therefore your gaining from paying taxes instead of losing. Over all I still think that the health care reform bill is a good idea.

The pros in this bill will affect families, young adults, seniors, the economy, and small businesses. The pros for us as young adults will help us stay on are parents plans until our 26th birthday. The seniors will get 12 years extension from their Medicare trust fund because of the Affordable Care Act. Small businesses will be up for tax credits which will help them provide more coverage for there workers. Without the new Health Bill reform the Medicare trust fund will be up to almost $1 Trillion U.S. dollars in 2017. The Cons in this bill is that it will cost America 94 billion dollars a year thats 940 billion dollars in 10 years.
I think the health care bill will be good because it’s a lot of people that may need this bill and can get the help they need. Children with pre-existing conditions can no longer be denied health insurance coverage and that’s good because those kids might get hurt, injured, or sick. The bill may be bad because your paying more on taxes and payments on houses are going up and its going to be tough. C/Crapp
In my opinion the new health reform is a great idea. I think it's thoughful that the government is trying to make sure that everyone has health insurance, but then again there are some people that might refuse to purchase it. For those people starting in 2014 under this law they must purchase health insurance or they will be at risk of getting fined, but if they don't make enough money to purchase a plan or their employer does not offer health insurance as a benefit, they may be able to get assistance from the government. Also starting in 2014 states will operate new insurance exchanges that will provide people with more options for buying an indiviual policy if they can't get, or afford, insurance from their workplace. What I like about the health reform law is that it stops illegal immigrants from taking advantage of purchasing health care, but what I love most about the new health refom is that it if you have an adult child you may keep them on your insurance policy until they are 26 as long as they are not a drop out and are in school(college). In my opinion that should be a motivation to most kids because I'm pretty sure that they aren't ready for paying their own doctor bills. Between the age of 20 and 25 they should be getting their financial situations together so that way when it comes time that they are released from their parent/legal guardians policy they are ready to have a policy of their own and they are financially stable. The only thing I dislike is the cut in Medicare. The elderly on Medicare will see their benefits change dramatically. Then again I think that just because Americans are uninsured doesn't mean they can't receive health care. Nonprofits and government run hospitals provide services to those who dont't have insurance, and it is illegal to refuse emergancy medical service because of a lack of insurance. But overall i believe that this health care bill is one of the greatest there is.

I think that this health reform thing is absolutely dumb. I don't think that the government should be wasting their time paying for this. To me honestly i think the governments job is to worry about our soldiers providing the citizens security, and helping families in need. I went on the CNN website and its saying that the money for the health care wont come from our taxes, but then where is all this money going to be taken from. I don't agree with this at all. We already have to pay for all these taxes and the amount is ridiculous enough that we shouldn't have another thing to worry about paying. i don't think we should waste more money just to have health care.we are already in debt that this choice would only make it worst. I think that it should be the citizens choice wether or not they would like to have it. If we would like to purchase health care it should be our choice, we shouldn't be forced into something that we do not agree on. The only thing I think is smart from this whole mess is that the illegal immigrants wont get any of this. Which I think is good because they come into America and freeload off of our things. And I think it should be put to a stop. So honestly my opinion on this is no we should not have this reform, it's un needed and pointless.

My opinion, Honestly I think the health bill is not what we are looking for, other words its stupid to me, only because we are so far in debt already why put us in debt even more. If you want health care then get and education go to college and pay for it your-self. Why would we need something that we can already get by ourselves, why waste even more money and add on even more weight on our shoulders so that we can have what we want…. I really think this is really ridiculous to do this to our people, if they worked hard in the first place then we wouldn’t be asking for this. And another negativity about this is its going to cost over 940 billion dollars in the next ten years, im not for this. You see, I think it’s a horrible idea
C/2nd Lt. C.Brown,
Honestly I don't think that this bill is going to benefit as much as we all want it to. I mean it will be good for us because everyone will have health care and we could stay under our parents for much longer to make it cheaper on us. But what about the people that already have to pay for it, I think that if you’re going to give out free health care to all of these people who can't afford it, and then you might as well give it to everyone so that it’s fair. Plus I also think that it is way too much money to be spending on health care, I think its fine just how it is now; I believe we could use the money for something different that would benefit us more.
Some of the things I like under the new health care bill is the pcip plan, the ban on limits, and the Medicare/ medicaid changes. The Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan (PCIP), will provide a new health coverage option for you if you have been uninsured for at least six months, you have a pre-existing condition or have been denied health coverage because of your health condition. health plans that cover children can no longer exclude, limit, or deny coverage to your child under age 19. All covered benefits are available to you, where you won’t be charge a higher premium just because of your medical condition and your eligibility will not be based on income. Many health plans set an annual limit and a lifetime limit where you were required to pay the cost of all care exceeding those limits. Under the new law, lifetime limits on most benefits are prohibited in any health plan or insurance policy issued or renewed on or after September 23, 2010. Although the bad thing about that are that plans can put an annual dollar limit and a lifetime dollar limit on spending for health care services that are not necessary. Starting in 2014 states will be required to expand Medicaid to include childless adults which is good for those who are not covered on employers plans. Starting in 2011, if you have high prescription drug costs that put you in the donut hole, you’ll get a 50% discount on covered brand-name drugs while you’re in the donut hole. This is pretty good because even though you still have to pay it will not be as much as you use to pay for the prescriptions you need.
Some things I don't like under the bill is that the health insurance exchange will not be available to all U.S. citizens. In order to qualify for any plan offered in the Exchange, citizens must not have insurance through their employer.

You say Health Care I say oh my gosh what do we do today in the world health care is not everybody’s friend. However, the one way we can start is in small businesses to qualify for any portion of the credit about 12 percent of the small business population would benefit in any way. Small business would get up to a 35 percent tax credit on the premiums they pay for their employees in health coverage. By 2014, the tax credit will be upped to 50 percent, and the White House estimates that 4 million businesses will benefit from it.
C/A.Prater AS1
I believe the health care reform will help people who cannot afford insurance to be able to get medical coverage. I think it is important for children to have regular check ups without their families being stressed out about the cost. I think it is important for the health care reform to make sure that the elderly are taken care of. In the end, i'll be satisfied if the reform turns out to be fair for all citizens of any economic status.

There is so much talk around the world about the new health bill. The sad thing is there is so many people that don’t know the facts they only know the meth’s. This bill is said to bring down the cost and improve the quality of health and expand the coverage of thirty two million Americans. The most positive parts of the bill are that young adults will be allowed to remain on their parents plan until their twenty sixth birthday. Another positive aspect about the bill is that all the seniors that fall into the “donut hole” will receive two hundred and fifty dollars rebate checks and will receive up to fifty percent discount on their brand name prescription drugs.
Reviewing different facts over the internet it states that 20,400 people who typically hit their lifetime limits will benefit from the health bill and so will over 102 million consumers who will no longer have a lifetime limit on their insurance. This bill will really help businesses small businesses the most. There is something that is called (PCID) and all uninsured Americans with preexisting conditions can get insurance threw the new (PCID). A big benefit for family’s is the new tax credits will drive down costs the law provides refundable tax credits for Americans with incomes up to four hundred percent of poverty up to about 88,200 dollars per year for a family of four they can punches coverage thru the exchanges. Some myths I have read about is “business will suffer under the health reform” the fact is they say the health insurance reforms will lower the cost for American businesses
Now after doing all this research I believe this bill has a lot of good new ideas to try to improve our economy but the only thing is where is all this money going to come from. Time can only tell us what we are getting ourselves into though.

There are many pros and cons to the health care bill. One of the pros is that you may remain on your parents insurance until you are 26 years of age. That is helpful because the child adult won’t have to worry about getting a job that covers them while there in college. So this way they can focus on college. Another pro is that children under the age of 19 cannot be denied coverage. This is helpful because some parents aren’t lucky enough to get a job that has good insurance however this allows children to get help whenever they need it. One of the Cons is that if you don’t have health care by 2014 then you get fined. Some people aren’t fortunate enough to have some of the things other people have. It isn’t right to punish someone who can’t get a good enough job that either pays for the insurance or gives them insurance. That’s how I feel about the health care bill.

I think that the new health bill has a few good and bad sides. I think that it allows people to afford doctors and allow their children to receive the same benefits. I also think that it is good that doctors will not be able to discriminate any services to anyone due to race, age group, or any disabilities. Also it’s very good that anyone who meets the criteria will be eligible for the health coverage. So everyone in the U.S. will receive the help that they need. With the new bill everyone can be in the best of health.
I think that the health bill is a very good idea because after reading thru all the info I found some very interesting facts such as a lot of family’s will benefit from this bill because the law provides refundable tax credits for Americans with incomes up to four hundred percent of poverty up to $88,200 dollars per year for a family of four to punches coverage through the exchanges. Another good thing about the bill is that young adults will be allowed to remain on their parents plan until their 26th birthday. Over all they say this act will bring down the cost and will improve the quality of health and expand the coverage of over thirty two million Americans. They say that the seniors who fall in the donut hole will receive about fifty percent discount on their brand name prescription drugs. So all in all I think that this health bill is something that will really change our economy but of course there are some down falls like all the money being spent. I’m kind of undecided.

C/Thompson,Austin Health Carereform Bill My opinion on the new health carereform bill is that it would not be a good idea for one we do not have enough gold to back up what we are spending now so how are we ever goin to pay back all that gold that we would spend on it.I also think that the U,S should not tax money that you get from retireing from the military. And tax the money from your relitive life insurance.I think they should do it but first make sure the U,S has enough money to pay for it wich is alot of money 940 billion dollars. The bill says that it wont come out of are taxes but we will see when it comes.Positive effects it will cover over 32 Americans that are currently not insured.Starting in 2012 insurance companies cannot deny coverage to anyone with preexisting condition.Insurance companies have to allow you to stay on your parents insurance till the age of 26. That is my opinion on the new bill.
Give me an H-E-A-L-T-H C-A-R-E put it all together and what do you spell Health Care not yay. Health is not the best thing right now for everybody if you are looking for a job then this might be your chance with the new Bill, there will be additional 33 Million insured. However, the one best thing is that your kids can stay on your policy until 26 years
currently; many insurance companies do not allow adult children to remain on their parents' plan once they reach 19. Companies cannot do that anymore. Nevertheless, this does not kick in until 2014, when fines begin for those who do not have coverage.

The health care act, personally I think has been long since over due. The act purposes that once high insurance cost, lower to create an affordable plans for the 45.7 million uninsured Americans. There are many myths about the new health care reform, to address a few like; Health insurance will use citizen tax dollars to fund unnecessary procedures such as abortions. Too say the least that myth is by far completely false, the only time health care insurance would cover such a case is in the event of rape, incest or an event causing danger to the women is question health.
C/A1C G.Sullivan
The Health Care Bill is getting ready to be a big deficit to the world one reason why is because the bill segregates private insurance premium funds from taxpayer funds. Individuals would have to pay for abortion coverage by making two separate payments; private funds would have to be kept in a separate account from federal and taxpayer funds. That doesn’t make no kind of since to do because that’s killing us as in people. Then the bill speaks: No health care plan would be required to offer abortion coverage. States could pass legislation choosing to opt out of offering abortion coverage through the exchange. That’s like saying they have a care in the world about it period. But the biggest problem of it all to me is the cost of it all which is $940 billion dollars. All that money into that and its basically hurting everybody in the end. And it only expands coverage to 32 million Americans who are currently uninsured. Individuals and families who make between 100 percent - 400 percent of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) and want to purchase their own health insurance on an exchange are eligible for subsidies. They cannot be eligible for Medicare, Medicaid and cannot be covered by an employer. Eligible buyers receive premium credits and there is a cap for how much they have to contribute to their premiums on a sliding scale. That is ridiculous you suppose to be helping people with this bill not making them have second thoughts about it. When I was reading about a read a part and it said Insurance companies must allow children to stay on their parent's insurance plans until age 26th. That’s not helping parents at all I might be a teenager but when we are on our parents that long it will be trough the roof then our parents wont ever have a change to retire. I just feel like we as people need more time to think about this one.
C/Hasan-Hussein: The new Health Care bill is the base for reform in health care and in my opinion is also the best bill concerning health care so far. It will not only change the way children and adults are taken care of but it will also help people have the ability to pay for it. Previously children were being denied their rights to health care insurance because of pre-existing conditions. Bill is now allowing children to receive health care insurance despite the pre-existing conditions, it is also allowing the uninsured and self-employed to buy health care insurance on exchange with subsides. Subsides meaning they are not eligible for Medicare or have the ability to be converted by their employers, Medicare payroll tax expands to unearned income in 2012 ( ‘3.8% tax on investment income’), insurance companies will have to pay forty percent excessive tax on high end plan, and a ten percent excessive tax on indoor tanning. The new Health Care bill also allows for people, when they get out of college, to still have health care insurance, on their parents insurance, until the age 26, allowing them to have time to find and purchase good health insurance that fits their needs.
