on novembe second, voters will cast ballots for senators and representatives, governors, lawmakers, and local officials. In the senate thirty-seven seats are avalible, but currently nineteen are democrates and eighteen republicans. for the house of represenitives all seats are avalible. two hundred are currently democratic and one hundred and seventy eight are republican the other to are independant. republicans are looking to surpass two hundred and eighteen of them to get ahead. The outcome of the mid term elections will affect current polotics because one if republicans get majority of the seats of congress it will make it harder for barak obama to pass laws. this is because with Obama being a democrate and if the morjority of the congress was republican Obama would not get a thumbs up for every thing he did. republicans already want to help stop tax hikes and help the unemployment rates. if democrates take majority things will stay the same and obama will have and easy time passing laws. With both a democratic leading congress and a democratic president most things Obama wants to pass will go through and republicans cant do anything. if it were republican leading congress and a democratic president things would be in balance.

Republicans first pledge to slash taxes and spending, cut down on government regulations, repeal portions of President Obama’s health care law and end his stimulus program. While Democratic would continue to go along with Obama. If the Republicans win majority in house and senate I believe there will be a problem between the views of Obama and congress. Laws would be a little more difficult to make because of the different views. I do not think much would change if the Democratic majority remained. They would continue to allow laws that would make many of the republican citizens of America up set. This will affect the House and Senate because the majority may shift to the Republicans of may remain with the Democrats. If the Republicans gain the majority then the Democrats that remain in will have many disagreements with the Republicans. If the Democrats keep the majority then any Republicans staying will feel any power they may have had just completely given to the Democrats because they will have the majority again. I know that this election is big because of the differences that have upraised against the Democrats and the Republicans. This election may even change some of the bills and laws that Obama had plan to make with the Country.

The outcome of the midterm elections will affect current politics because if the Democrats come out on top, then things will pretty much continue in the same direction. However, if the Republicans are victorious, then there is a chance that there is going to be a definite change; because as of right now, they do not really have much say in what goes on and what bills get passed in Congress. The main thing that Republicans are speaking of is cutting down on spending. Two of the ways they plan on doing that is by repealing some of President Obama’s health care law and putting a complete end to his stimulus program. Now, for many Americans this is a good and bad thing. It is good because they WANT to reduce spending, lower taxes, and all that good stuff. It is bad because they DO NOT want to repeal any of ObamaCare and the stimulus program. The outcome of the midterm elections will affect the House and Senate because if majority Republicans are in there, then it would be easier for them to get their bills passed. Though, it is also important to keep in mind that even if Republicans do come out on top this election, these bills and others would still have to go through Obama, who has the power to veto them.

I believe that the midterm elections this year will have a very less than expected outcome. Due to the higher number of Democrats in office now, the republicans feel not as equally represented and are quite outraged about it. Having a president that is Democratic as well does not help the situation either, allowing more republicans to have a legitimate reason to have an increased number of votes for republican congressman. One pledge republicans have promised to do is to cut down the chaotic use of taxes that the democrats have put into play for an extended period of time. Another order of business they plan to use is to repeal certain portions of the President’s health care plan. This particular action has angered democrats and disabled Americans alike. They feel that the health care plan that has been set in place is giving much needed aid to Americans that live below the poverty line and to disabled veterans unable to spend their retirement correctly.
Cadet Senior Airman Sutton. I believe that the majority in the senate and house will switch over to the Republicans because the Republicans promise to cut taxes and to repeal Obama's healthcare plan. I do believe it should stay with the Democrats because sometimes you have to spend some to get some. Also Republicans were the ones who got us in this recession. Even though Democrats have been know to spend and when Clinton was in office he did get a lot more accomplished with the Republicans I do believe that we should give the Democrats a chance. Also voters say they want tax cuts but won't let lawmakers chip away at big budget spenders like Medicare. Another reason I said Democrats should stay the majority "regardless of who wins the majority next week, more pratfalls than policies may come out of the 112th Congress, observers warn."(From Fox News). Also both parties aren't perfect so we can't expect the Republicans to be the ones who "save" for this economic crisis because they can as well fuel the crisis as well as the Democrats.

Regardless of the outcome on Tuesday the election is going to take place. There’s a lot of different ways that people want to go with America they say is democrats retain the majority they want to spend more money to turn the economy around they want to overhaul the immigration system basically just make a change. The republicans feel totally different they would rather cut back on spending money even if that means no more big events and other stuff. Just as it said in the passage I read though “if republicans capture the chambers in congress they will face the challenge of getting their priorities past Obama who wields veto power” which really makes you think it’s really up to Obama there. The republicans want to work to repeal Obamacare and start all over but reducing the cuts and spending can get really difficult. The house speaker says there focus will be to get good paying manufacturing jobs and if we are able to do this she thinks it will make America a agenda that will call ends for out sowing. There are a lot of people that don’t agree with the choices Obama is making but I really feel like the longer they sit here and keep talking about it there wasting time America is falling into debt so fast and if we don’t hurry up and make a change its going to be too late.
..p.s. uhhhh this was one of the hardest blogs I ever did because I didn’t understand it really!
Ok first of all Obama is not doing everything he said he was going to do. So I see why the democrats are trying to put him out of office, so therefore he cannot be mad it is his fault if he would have came in and did what he was supposed to do he wouldn’t be in this mess .It really gets me mad how he promised to do all this stuff and he's only kept like three of the promises that he made . Then the fact that he’s only been in office like barely two years . Do you know how much of a bummer that is I mean its like he sat down and then just disappeared . You know I bet in like five years people wont even remember his term in office . They’ll think of it as an urban legend . The stuff he’s doing he has his mind set in the rite place, but you wont see any results until like eight more years. We need results now not then. I’m not saying he’s doing a horrible job I’m saying he could do a better job. Then on top of that passing legislation is goanna be a brutal pain .

Coming up is the big mid term elections. The results of this can change a lot of big things. Right now the Democrats lead the house and the senate. Now if the republicans can get majority in the House And Senate this can mean big things for Obama care. The Republicans have already said the plan to slash taxes and spending, cut down on government regulations, repeal portions of President Obama's health care law and end his stimulus program. The democrats obviously don’t want the republicans to get into power. Personally I hope the republicans do get more power. I don’t like a lot of the stuff Obama is doing. I want them to put a stop to a lot of it. Like they said I “repeal portions of Obama’s health care law” I think that’s a great idea. The health care law has some very dumb things in it that don’t make any sense. Hopefully it can be revised and taken out. If the democrats stay the majority then NOTHING will really change. It will be like it is now it will not get any better because all of Obama’s plans will continue through. I am not sure how it will come out but I hope Republicans win the Majority.
I think that the outcome of the mid-term will affect current politics if the republicans win the majority of the senate seat and get some of the places in the house of representatives. If this happens, then the democrats are in trouble. If the majority of the republicans get voted into the senate, then the health care bill that Obama wants to pass wont get passed because all of the republicans don’t favor that bill. This change might also effect the house because no one would agree on anything and the republicans would have most of the power in the government. But if the democrats could win the mid-term election, then the healthcare bill would be passed and everything would be ok.

I think the outcome of the midterm election might be good and it might be bad and I really don’t know what to type sp its going be hard but it may turn out good because democrats say they want to overhaul the immigration system, pass climate change legislation and spend more money to turn the economy around and reduce the deficit. Majority of republicans and independent voters in 10 house battleground districts should stop spending, even if it means fewer projects and earmark, but similar majorities in both groups also say they are unwilling to accept cuts to social security, Medicaid, defense and homeland-security spending. If republicans capture one or both chambers in congress next Tuesday, they face the challenge of getting their priorities past president Obama. Midterm elections will be good.

I believe that the outcome of midterm elections really wont effect the current politics. The reason why I believe that is because Obama has no power due to the Congress not working with him. So it would be status quo. Neither parties like working with eachother. Its like “Lucy and Charlie Brown with the football” said Julian Zelizer. Republicans pledge to slash taxes and spending, cut down on government regulations, repeal portions of President Obama’s health care law and his stimulus program. Its really urgent that they do so. A lot of the things that President Obama was talking about alot of things that noone understood or knew of. A lot of voters would use the midterm elections to be anger with the Democrats. The House of Senates would be affected because of the put the hardest in it and things would effect their position if they do.

The democratic party is the dominate party all throughout congress. They say that if they retain the majority then basically they will spend the citizen's money in order to make the country better. They thing that spending money is the way to go. On the other hand, f the midterm elections have favor of the republican party it will keep the House and the Senate more balanced. Right now because congress is mostly democratic it is basically lopsided right now. The republicans of course do not agree with the way the democrats are running things. The republicans believe that the democratic people in congress, including the President, are spending way too much money on unnecessary. They would like to cut down on spending money and would like to make some changes to Obama's health care reform. They also have a totally different outlook when the matter of abortion comes out. They are pro life uinlike the democratics who are pro choice. The republicans also would like to cut down the taxes. Overall, I think most people are not liking how the government is being ran right now and that's why they are saying the midterm elections will flip to the republican's side.

Current politics, democratic style, are demanding more taxes to be taken, due to the over spending of America's money appetite. Bailouts of large companies, banks, and major coporations that were spending uneccessary money on multiple homes, transportation, and entertainment. Of course not forgetting to mention the stimulous package and the huge change in insurance plans. There's going to be a battle at hand because neither parties like each others company. I believe that there will be more pointing fingers at one another that the resolving of the issues at hand. The Republicans want to attack Obama's stimulous program and his health care law, which is calling for able, hardworking citizens to help, forcefully, other unfortunate citizens that can't afford healthcare. John Boehner, House Republican leader, sais "There nothing more urgent than stopping the tax hikes, cutting spending and repealing Obamacare." All of these subjects will be discussed and judged by a panel, moderated by Dean Lacy, professor of government, at Dartmouth. The political outcome that will be discussed may trigger a change in the way politics are being carried out today by the Democrats. The House and Senate need to come to a common agreement and put their heads together and fine tune America's issues. We all live in one country, we shouldn't fight one another, we should band together...but, this is America.

This mid-term election, to me is very important. This vote will change things around differently or keep things the same. Either everything will be ran by the republican party or everything will stay ran by the democratic party. If the majority votes go to the democrats getting elected to go for the house or the senate, then of course that would make sense because our president is a democrat. This election is important and in some ways it will be positive and in others it will be negative. I really do not have much knowledge about politics, so from research, this is what i pulled from the information.
c/koonce
I think that after the election If Mr. Boehner wins he will cut back on the taxes and cut back on our government spending s. But it’s like this guy came out of nowhere and wants to control the house representatives. It’s been said that 54% of voters have never even heard of him. It has been predicted that the House of Representatives will turn over to a Republican majority and that the senate will remain Democratic. Mr. Boehner is trying to ever thing Barrack Obama has failed to do yet and trying to put an end to his health care plan. So if he does win he will be still helping our economy. He trying to save money and Obama’s trying to spend it !!!! I think I’m on his side.

How will the outcome of the midterm elections affect current politics?
Well, as far as I understand if the republicans receive the most votes and get into power they will still have problems either way because they’d have to have their plans and things go through our president, who still wields veto power. And if the democratic win then there will most likely be uproar from the republicans who have different views on everything. Different bills will be placed on the table for consideration, heated arguments will go underway AND politics will be a interesting subject for a while as far as this classroom goes =)
How will it affect the House and Senate?
New members of both the house and the senate will be brought in, along with new ideas, opinions and problems. Personally I think the house will have more republicans while the senate holds more democrats (but that just my guess)

The mid-term elections...Im really not big on elections or even democrats or republicans so i dont really have a feel of whats going on,But i kind of read on a little bit of what it was all about. How will the outcome of the midterm elections affect current politics? I think it will affect the whole situation alot.Because even thought Obama is trying to do what he thinks is right with the health care bill and spending all this money that we do not have we have to think on what is best for our country.SO EITHER WAY IT GOES SOMEONE WILL BE MAD!!!! I FELT THAT THIS WAS A GREAT PART-->If Democrats retain control, their majorities are all but certain to be reduced in both chambers, giving Republicans more power to block Obama's agenda and increasing the chances of gridlock on legislative proposals.
The midterm election could very well decide the fate of the house of representatives and the senate for the next couple of years. If the vote sways that the 38 seats in the respective offices are won by the Republicans, who have reportedly promise to cut spending as well as taxes could defiantly change the way how money is distributed. Like for instance if they cut spending in areas like education that could mean things like special programs for the arts and music would be non exist. Now if the vote sways to the democratic side, the balance of power would continue on its same path. Which includes more tax payers money goes to bailing out big company's to supposedly fix our economy crisis. It would also mean the President Obama would have an easier time get laws passed, Which would not happen if the republicans have the power in either the senate or the house of representatives. I think that there has to be a balance of power if both the house and the senate, otherwise we will be stuck in a gridlock state were we are fighting ourselves instead of the issues. Either way I hope whoever is in power, make the right decisions while in office.

With the 2010 mid-term elections coming around, there are a lot of discusstions going around about party changes. The outcome of these elections would be drastic only if the republicans win. If the democrats win, they would probably change a few things to get a lot of people to like their views. With the republicans winning, it would be a lot of change. First off, Obama's administration would have a harder time trying to pass laws becuase of the republicans view. I think the republicans would try to get rid of the Health Care Reform Bill that had just been voted into law. A lot of other things would change, too. They would probably become less involved with their citizens and let us run us. In education, the republicans views are based on voluntary acts so prayer in school would probably o.k. It would make a lot of things complicated because I think that a lot of people are used to a lot of rules, laws and regulations that the democrats have already made. With gun control, the republicans believe in no gun licensing, allowing almost anyone to have a gun. It might cause an increase in violence making things worse. If the republicans would win, the house and senate would be greatly affected. A lot of the votes from Obama's administration would not get a lot of votes as they would before. It would make things a lot more difficult for them to pass the laws they want. Sometimes it could be a good things. A lot of the things the democrats believe in and the things that the republicans believe in could balance each other out. But in the end I'm still not sure about whats going to happen. Apparently the republicans believe in cutting down taxes to bring the economy up so their first task if they win the mid term elections would be to do something about the healtcare reform. That would cause a lot of disruption within us. So a lot of things would change.
C/Sinclair
The outcome of the midterm elections will effect politics in many ways like if the republicans win they promise to slash taxes and spending, cut down on government regulations, repeal portions of President Obama's health care law and end his stimulus program. If Democrats retain the majority, they say they want to overhaul the immigration system, pass climate change legislation and spend more money to turn the economy around and reduce the deficit. The House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's says, the early focus of legislation will be to create "good-paying manufacturing jobs" by using the "Make it in America" agenda, which calls for ending outsourcing. If I could vote I would vote for the republican party because sounds like they would do the most for our economy. They promise to cut down government spending and cut down on taxes.
C/Baines
On November second, all voters across the land will get their chance to vote for their favorite candidate. Currently the Democrats are winning with more support from the U.S population. If they win more of the 37 available then they will be able to trash all of the Republicans' ideas. If the Democrats win the majority, then they will be able to pass climate change legislation, overhaul the immigration system, and spend more money on the economy. According to different news reports either party will do what they want when the get into power, or office. The Democrats have greater outcomes, by there being a Democratic president. If the Democrats win the midterm election then president Obama has a greater chance of being reelected in two years. As of tomorrow the president will see his next two years unfold. Either way the votes go, the president still has at least two full years in office. Hopefully the voters pick who deserves the senate seat. Instead of a popularity contest the voters should pick the right person.
Hmm, these midterms elections raise many new questions. There are so many ways that this could go because both parties have very different ideas of what to do if they are voted. The republicans want to cut taxes by 100 billion. they also have pledged to repeal Obamas healthcare bill, and end Obamas stimulus program. The Democrats want to make a new immigration system and spend more money to turn our economy around and reduce our deficit. Either group that gets voted they both have one similar goal indirectly. Both democrats and republicans want the economy to have money again its just the way they go about doing it. So either way the vote goes it could go well.In my opinion i would favor the republicans just because they pledge to repal the healthcare bill. The house and senate would ramain the same if the democrats remain majority because already as it there are democrats in the house and senate. If the republicans are voted to house and senate there will always be a conflict between what the president thinks is best and what the house and senate think. There ideas will be very different. Even way this election goes it will only help the economy but i would still prefer the rebulicans get voted.

Whoever wins the majority vote next, tomorrow, more pratfalls than policies will come out of the 112th Congress observers warn. As we all know, Democrats and Republicans don’t like to work with each other. If there are more Republicans than Democrats in Congress, President Obama is going to have some problems. There would be different views and things and it’d probably take more time to get things done, with all of the disagreements, different and whatnot. While Democrats are plan on spending more money on things, Republicans think other wise. As first orders of business in 2011, Republicans pledge to lower taxes and spending, cut down on government regulations, repeal portions of President Obama's health care law and end his stimulus program. In my opinion, “slashing” the taxes and spending is a great idea! I mean seriously, what’s the harm in saving money??? America NEEDS to save money! But anyways, if Democrats retain the majority, they want to overhaul the immigration system, pass climate change legislation and spend MORE money to turn the economy around and reduce the deficit. I don’t know how spending even more money is going to help. That seriously confuses me. Lowering taxes and spending, sounds like a better way to help the economy, to me.

As they said on the website, “no matter which party comes out one top, this election will become an uphill battle”. Meaning it’s going to be hard for both houses, republicans want to save our nation by slashing taxes and cutting down on the governments regulations. In the senate currently thirty seven seats are open and nineteen of them are democrats and eighteen of them are republicans, republicans are trying to save the U.S by giving unemployed citizens jobs and making the unemployment rate go up. But yet I don’t think much of the world and I don’t think much of our world changing anytime soon that’s just my opinion. And the senate wants so repeal Obama’s health care law, shoot I would too we are not ready enough for change. I say you can’t change something that was never ready to change in the first place. In this mid-term election, I hope that the republicans win this. A lot of voters would use the midterm elections to be anger with the Democrats. The House of Senates would be affected because of the put the hardest in it and things would affect their position if they do. And this is what I think of this.

November second, the ballots are to be casted to vote for senators, governors, and other officials. As of right now the majority population in the senate is democrats. in this election, however, according to the polls the outcome of this election will end in a majority of republicans. This raises questions and concerns. Currently, we have a democratic president, and along with that democratic views of how our country should be run. If the majority in the senate now becomes republican there will be disagreements not only with the presidents opinions and future political decisions, but with the minority democrats in the senate. Also if this does happen i believe that the system America has established over the past hundreds of years, will become counterproductive. I mean just think, the president wants a law or policy to be passed that, knowingly, will have a democratic views behind it, will be vetoed because of the majority vote of the senate, and if the senate feels a policy should be passed, the president may vetoe it. The republicans have not really had much of a say so and i feel if they do become the majority, and finally get that power and say so, they will change many current things our president is trying to build such as health care, and the spending budget. I know that if this change does occur we will see the effects of it very shortly.

On November Second, the United States of America will vote for the mid-term elections. Although many people do not know a single fact or fiction about these special elections held every two years, they are very important in that they hold the prize for us in the future of politics. All of the chaos is because it is said that the republicans are going to take back the house and senate away from the democrats. This is a problem because Obama is a democrat and most of congress is currently democrats. If these mid-term elections "flip the power" to the republicans the bills that the democrats want to establish will not go through without hardship. The fact that democrats and republicans do not get along with each other in necessary times, makes this election so on edge. Part of the issues over this election is the distribution of the money. Republicans want to slash money cuts. However, the democrats are saying that they want cuts but do NOT want the cuts to be made in the Medicare and Social Security programs. Both parties are fighting at each other and it’s hard to tell whose going to “reign supreme” in these elections! There’s no doubt that this election will NOT go down in history. It’s just a matter of which way it will happen!
Big term elections YAY four cookie dough ha-ha-ha no…First, if the Democrats retain the majority, they have said in that they want to overhaul the immigration system and then if they change legislation and spend more money to turn the economy around and reduce the deficit now how does that sound to you. Then both parties do not like to work with each other so that sounds like there some conflict going around there and both Democrats and Republicans believe it will be a strong Republican year for Oklahoma. Glenn Coffee, Senate President Pro Tempore.Of Oklahoma’s state legislature, said there is a large number of opening seats that is currently open. By members of the Democratic Party, the GOP wants to slash $100 billion right away, though a pledge produced in the summer does not offer a timeline for cuts. Hmmm… if you had to think on this the world is just a place full of problems that to be fixed right away because if both party’s cannot stand each other then what. We just keep fighting and in 2011, Republicans pledge to slash taxes and spending, cut down on government regulations, repeal portions of President Obama's health care law and end his stimulus program.

Ahhhh Midterm madness! I think I am going crazy right now (: nah I am ok! Still what is going on today in the world, people need a good old kick in the pants like really are you kidding me Democrats like are you serious I know your smarter than that? At least I thought so or you are not! There spend our money like they think it’s the best thing in the work I mean come get a grip you know were already in dept and if we get one more slip up then were going to be start talking Chinese! Because the china owns us right now we are under them everything we got as of right now is to them, so we have to be nice to them if not then were screwed big time! I with the premise that the future growth of the U.S economy will need to depend more on industrial and technology companies, especially those strong on exports. In the past 40 years, consumer stocks have led the market. In the next 10 or more, there should be a rotation toward industrials. Therefore, who know what is going to happen maybe might get better who know! It all depends on that veto and that is all I have to say!

Maybe people are stupid today in the world. Like what the hello right now this midterm madness got me even thinking right now when really I could care less right now about it but no everybody think the world so perfect right now when it anit were still screwed right now Republican gains could be negative for consumers, especially lower-income Americans. Current unemployment benefits extensions expire this month. With little time after the election to negotiate, passing a further extension could be difficult. This would hurt retailers focused on lower-income shoppers. Reportedly, the GOP wants to slash $100 billion right away, though a pledge produced in the summer does not offer a timeline for cuts. If Democrats retain the majority, they say they want to overhaul the immigration system, pass climate change legislation and spend more money to turn the economy around and reduce the deficit. I mean whip’e big deal all I know is that you are all wrong! The republican the Democrats the government even Obama messed up big time so know we are living like off china like it anit nothing! In addition, they think that is cool when it anit! If we get one mess up then were done we can just kiss trying to get save or trying to do better in the world goodbye!
I don't know if i am suppose to post the Interview blog here but i am :)
I never thought any different of George W. Bush before or after watching the interview. George Bush made some good choices and made some bad choices. His choice for war seemed good at the time “Defend our honor, Let them know we don’t take light to attacking America,” but seeing this almost 10 years later I don’t think this was a great idea. When he showed fear in front of the kids that were reading that September day, showed that he had the courage to understand what need to be done. He knew he needed to face the American public and let them know what he was going to do. Katrina was another tough time for America and Bush wanted to do everything he could to help the people in Louisiana out of the mess that had occurred. The only reason he was not there to help and send in federal troops was because he did not want to over step Louisiana Governor. A person has to respect the fact that Bush is a respectable person when it comes to not over stepping state governors and other state officials. Bush has shown respectable moves but he has also made some mistakes. If you ask me this war did not need to last long send in a few troops and take precautions on to where they need to be where they do not overstep the government in Iraq or Iran.
This year mid term elections are going to have a big effect on things. If you think about it we all no that republicans and democrats do not
like to work together. If democrats retain majority they plan to overhaul immigration system pass climate change and spend more money. They want to spend more money to turn the economy around and reduce the deficit.According to the hill newspaper congress should cut even if it means
less projects.Only 28 % democrats want to cut spending. It would not be good if they were to spend more money they shoulg cut the spending of money to save money to pay for the money we spent. This mid term election is a big because it could change obama s plans. This election is basically battle between democrats and republicans. If one wins it could be good if the other
wins it could be really bad.Republicans are trying to save us money. While the democrats are trying to put use in negative numbers.I meen it could be a good
thing put we need the money first. This will effect the house and senate because
if democrats remain the republicans will be upset. This could cause clash between
the two sides.C/Thompson,Austin
