One of today's topics in class was the Health Care Bill that was passed by President Obama in 2010 stating that everyone SHOULD have health care insurance. Now to be honest, my opinion on this is kind of 50-50 and I will tell you why. While on the CNN website, I was caught up with some of the health care videos and they explained how people were winners or losers. Well, in my side of support for the bill, I support it because then it ensures that you and your family will get health care without having to worry about paying big money. Now this side of my support for the bill also has a conflict attached to it. Just like in CNN, they asked viewers of the video "what is the problem if you are uninsured and don't want to get health care insurance?" Here is the problem. What if someone in your family got seriously hurt and when you took that person to the hospital and the hospital asked you to pay but you are currently struggling with money, what would you do then? Now with the health care insurance, you won't have to worry. Here's your second conflict with the health care bill. What if you can't afford it? Well that would really suck. My third and final conflict for this bill, and trust me this one is big(most would agree), is this. Whoever took away our freedom of speech? Don't we have a say in this? We all know that President Obama is a very "good" president, but he can't just take away one of the most important things we have, freedom of speech. We should at least have an option on whether or not we want to buy health care insurance. By the way, I have forgotten to mention that while I was in CNN, it said that people who don't buy health care insurance will have to pay a fine. While this may raise eyebrows or cause severe tensions, I only have three words to say: Shakin my head:)

The healthcare bill I think to me is just in its own world meaning Obama and the rest of the government officials don’t know what to do about the healthcare bill. If we have to pay ten percent then I think its just down right not good. I mean most of the money goes back out to social company’s. I don’t get why the hard money we earn to pay for bills like the health care bill and then the government takes ten percent of it and the other percent goes to secret company and we don’t get any of the money we paid for back. Its just stupid, if Obama cared about this concern so bad he would just finish the job now and not worry about this. This health care bill is taking up to much of our time on stuff we can be doing for fun with our family but if Obama and the government is not willing to step up and take rightful actions against this then they need to step down from what they are doing and let someone else take over. I want this healthcare bill to come to a cease so the money we could get back use for family vacations and other stuff. Its making America a very expensive place in today’s world with the way this healthcare bill is. The government should at least give all the people who pay the bill half of what they give those social company’s and give the other half to the company’s that need it.
Cadet Wilcox,
I think that new bill is stupid because one, if you can’t afford health care then what are you going to do once you get fined. If a woman is pregnant and she can’t afford Health care and the fine, what are they going to do, send her to jail/prison for giving birth?
Obama really messed up big time on this one. They need to deny that bill and move on. The economy is bad enough. We, as Americans, don’t need any more weight on our shoulders; no more health care, hospitals should just take care of the patient whether or not they have health care.
Even if we do have Health care we shouldn’t have to pay a fine just for not having it. It’s completely reatarded. How in the world is this helping us in any kind of way, if supposedly the economy is getting better. I understand that health care is a necessity to have but then again why should we need health care to take care of a lost limb? Why should we have to pay a fine if we don’t have the money? How is this going to help the economy any if all they do is take more money out of our wallets?
They really need to focus on the real problem in this situation. If they want us to have more money, then they need to stop charging us with so many taxes. This really needs to stop. There’s enough issues in the world we don’t need any more.
C/2nd Lt. Lafferty
After watching a few of the videos and reading the article I think Obamacare has both good and bad sides. One of the good sides I see is it will give everyone health insurance. I did not realize how expensive uninsured people were to those of us who have insurance. This would help all of us when the uninsured are injured or have medical issues and not cost us in our taxes. However, I don’t think that it is fair when with this plan it will cost the person making more money more for insurance. That will cause people to want to stay in a poverty level to keep their insurance premiums from increasing. Why should someone who goes to college have to pay more just because they make more and have an education? That just doesn’t make sense. With the one video, Prince Charming and the Fairy Godmother industries were being penalized for having more income. I get that everyone needs some type of insurance and you should not be denied insurance because of a preexisting condition but I think the problem will still exist. People will not want to increase their income due to this change. I think we are in need of a change but I don’t agree with Obamacare. I think that they need to relook this plan and change some of its aspects. When you see the state of our current health care and how much Medicaid is costing the states you can see that there needs to be change. I think a lot of the problem lays deeper in our society than just insuring everyone. Doctors come to practice here in the states outside of their own countries because of the freedom of health care here compared to the health care in their own nation. I think with this change we would lose good doctors.

I think Obama Health Care proposals have some advantages and disadvantages. I do believe that everyone should have health insurance because I don’t believe that other people should have money deducted out their pocket each year just for someone else. Although, people may complain about how they can’t pay for their health care I think penalizing them from it is not a bad thing at all. It just like buying a house, if you don’t have enough money to buy a house none going to pay for you to have it. American people have the same opportunities to earn a good living, and the people that do earn it shouldn’t have to stress or hold responsibility on other who didn’t earn or try to earn a good living for themselves. The disadvantage is starting the first few years health cost may be a little high but I think in the future the costing may decline because we don’t have to worry about taking care of the people who can’t afford it. This proposal may even encourage the lazy, poor, or non-thinkers to take education serious and really try to earn a degree for themselves so whenever a serious or minor health problem occur they can have that help from the doctors and they don’t really have to stress over the amount it may cost. However, I think this is a good proposal and I don’t think non-constitutional wrong because for many years the government been trying to try to make everyone happy and try to have benefit and give money to the ones that don’t have it but in reality they haven’t receive any money or benefits back from that. So I think it time to stop being Mr. nice guy and push American to be what we was always known for from the start, a hard-working successful country and in order to stay that way we have to encourage our people to think that way.
For the republicans it turns out for the re-election that Mitt Romney is in the lead. But if you ask me I think that we should elect Ron Paul. If you read what he is going to do as president it could change lots of people’s life and make them a whole lot easier. He has promised to bring troops home, he’ll end the privatized central bank that is the federal reverse for over inflating the dollar, end all wars, obey the constitution, decriminalize marijuana, give the people more civil liberties, end other wasteful government institutions such as the TSA, end the income tax, and promote a general well being for all Americans. Anybody who would do all that definitely has my vote. That is if I could vote, but gas price down to a dollar would also be nice but nobody ever gets it. But if you ask me I think Ron Paul is the way to go because he cares about all the troops in Afghanistan, Iraq, and others. He also cares about the bank and about everyone’s money too. He’ll fix out the taxes and do well to us Americans to give us even more freedom, and he’s going to have marijuana out of this place. That is a powerful and a pretty legit reason but it’ll still be the same, people are going to hold it without anybody knowing. But if I was 18 and allowed to vote, Ron Paul defiantly got it. With elections being right around the corner, Obama’s Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act has been the hot topic around the world. What you may think of this could be a whole different scenario then what someone else thinks. I believe there can be a benefit from both parts of this Obama care plan. It would be nice for those who do work to not pay taxes that go to people who are unemployed; It is also nice for those who don’t work to get help with health care, but I am sure most employed citizens prefer not paying for others health care, simply because that’s their own personal money that is being given away to care for others out there who most likely is not even trying. I think everyone should make their own decisions as far as health care goes just because not everyone has the money to afford their own health care plan but at the same time it would be good to enforce health care so more people would be covered the next time an emergency comes up. Those people who are not covered by health insurance still have to be helped/cured even if they’re an alien because the constitution states that but who pays for that? The employed citizens who have taxes taken out of their checks each month. I just believe what ends up being the final decision has a good as well as a bad. Nothing is perfect and if it was like that then there would be no purpose of experiencing life.

Even though by passing the Health Care Bill may help some people, it may not help all people. If you have lot of money, and get sent to the hospital you may save some money for the Hospital Bill. On the other hand if you can barely pay the house bills, and get sent to the emergency room you may not have enough money to pay the bill. Even with the Health Care Bill you may not have enough and get penalized. Though even with some of the downs the Health Care Bill has it does have some up sides to it. One of the up is that an insurance company can not drop customers if he or she gets sick.
Another benefit of the Health Care Bill is that it has even extended to small hospitals and other health facilities in order to help the few people who go to theses places. When woman have kids they can stay on your health insurance until you are twenty-six years old. thousands of Senior citizens saved about 8.2 million dollars on prescription drugs. Also thousands of people in the United States can save money in order to pay other bills since the Health Care Bill can help save lots of money even if you go to the Emergency Room. Finally it can help all kind of people both young, and old, and man or woman The Health Care Bill can make a difference. So this is why I think the Health Care Bill is a good idea.
Cadet Surti
To me the healthcare bill is so stupid because what if you can’t afford the health care and if you don’t get health care you going to be fined. Say for instance what someone got a heart attack and you would have to go the hospital and you didn’t have the money to pay for the health care and the fine what they going to do go to jail for not having money that’s really stupid in my point of view. What is you don’t go to jail either, what are they going to do murder you for not having insurance that really stupid. And if they want us to pay for health care they really need decrease the amount of taxes so we have money to buy health care. What happened to freedom of speech? If we don’t want to buy health care we won’t because that’s what freedom of speech says. From reading some of stories about this they said that the people who go to college will have to pay more because they make more money because they have education. For the people that can afford the health care they might have to pay for the people that don’t have the money for it. What if I had a lot of money and I bought healthcare and if they told me that I would have to pay for the people that can’t afford it I would get really mad because why should I have to pay for someone else’s health insurance. So I hope that EVERYONE DOESN’T have to buy healthcare.

I believe that Obama's health care plan should be denied. I believe this because their are multipule cons to this health care plan. For one people who get this health care are going to get help to pay for it at first, but then if you dont pay the fee to get this insurance now you have to pay a fine. First of all that just makes no since! You want to help people who cant afford health care get health care but if they dont pay this fee then they will get fined. Ok, now that just does not make since because if they could not pay to get health care in the first place what is going to make you think that all of a sudden they are going to be able to afford to pay this "fee" if you wanna call it once they get the health insurance!? Another thing that came to my attention after I had read some of the articles and watched some of the clips was the unfairness to people who can afford insurance already. After watching the clip with prince charming and the other fairy tale characters I noticed that it was all good for the people who could not afford the health care but people who work very hard for their money have to pay twice as much money just so that they can pay insurance for their family and practically pay for another family. I mean honestly the people who can not afford health insurance could probably afford it if they actually tried to get up and go get a job to make their money! I say this not to be mean but there are so many people out there who could afford health insurance if they would stop being picky about what jobs are out there to go get, and people who can not get a good job because they decided not to go finish school for what ever reason are happy with this plan because they know they are basically getting a free ride and can still sit at home and have things handed to them as usual. As some one who is going to be suffering from this health plan in the future I feel that this health plan is unfair to those who actually have an education and who have good jobs because they are basically being punished for being accomplished since they have to pay for others to get health insurance that could afford it if they really tried to gather the money for it. I mean this is also unfair to us who are going to be on our own in a few years because I am sure they will be raising these taxes super high just so that all this stuff can get paid. Basically what I am trying to say is that this health care plan should be shot down for the fact that there is so many cons attatched to it and not even close to enough pro's to show that this health care plan is a good idea!
C/A1C Ud Kaew
I have heard about Obama plane that he want people to buy and get health care. This is ridiculous about health care, because some people cannot afford the insurance and what is going to happen when people cannot afford the insurance? What if the health care is not good and not worth to get it? That what is I have heard from class and other people. One thing I heard people said over Obama is that he wanted rich people to pay more taxes than poor people. Now that is fair for people not me. I don’t to pay a lot of taxes, because riches people have a lot of money, they pretty much do a lot of stuff with that money. Obama want American to use less oil to save resource, because right now we in debt. If there is no oil than we can’t really produce a lot of things that we see or use today. But there are new people running for president and their Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, and Ron Paul will make some changes about the laws. I don’t really know who is the best president to choose, but I’m going with Obama if he gets re-election. Even though everyone said he is bad, but so far he won about the health car against Supreme Court. When we talking about the taxes how much income do we get from the salary? I think this year and the next four more years’ president Obama will get re-election and become the United Stated president again.
Airmen A. Robinson
Obama’s Decision on Health Care
The reason why I am supporting Obama’s decision for having all of the people in the united states to have health care is because, people that are really sick and old and need help they need to be helped with out having to pay all that money. Some Americans can not support themselves and can not afford to pay a hospital or doctor bills. And another thing is that we only spend 7% of our economy on health care and in Tywaun they spend 17% on there health care, it needs to be higher. That’s good compared to the U.S. Also it would not be right if only the people that are well off get health care but the people that bend the backs an extra ledge don’t get any health care. And to be precise there are 49 million Americans that are UN insured that is really bad for the people in our life time especially in North Carolina, Because people now in days are really bad off there are more people getting hurt up real bad and needing insurance money: to break it down a bit so people to under stand let me tell you like this. Say for instance you get in a car crash and you have no inference and have now way to pay it other people are paying for it. And also if you do not get health care you will have to pay a fine of $350 for children and $700 for adults and I am pretty sure that we do not want to pay that. I don’t want to pay that. I am not trying to change the opinions of the people but what I am trying to do is tell my side of the opinion and maybe other too. So I hope you guy herd and learned something new about Obama’s diction on and about health care.

This grand country was built on a grand foundation of choices and freedom. Now the government wants to take away some more choices and freedoms. This choice in particular is one that involves the owning of Health Insurance. Health insurance is a good thing to have, but do all people have it? Not really, but there are ways to get health care if you want it, but can’t afford it. So why now is the government “forcing” us to buy health insurance?
It is not that the government wants us to pay for health insurance. After all is it not the government’s job to keep all of its citizens safe? Yes it is, and that’s what the government wants. (Along with our money) Insurance has many premiums and when many people have the same premium they create a money reserve to use when one of say 1000 people have the same premium. Now picture the entire United States paying for a premium that works for everyone, young, old, able, and weak, at a constant rate. A reserve like that could cover about thousands of people who get in wreaks every day.
Now as long as there is good there will always be horrible results. Our freedom to choose is now in question. This forced health care is just a bill that the Supreme Court is or is not going to pass. The only thing they are deciding is if the bill is unconstitutional or not. After it is our choice to pick and choose health insurance and the government is helping by giving a choice, but it’s a choice that is being forced upon us if the bill is passed. This doesn’t sound fair to me, but who knows it may turn out and work well or it will fall to pieces and be deemed unconstitutional. All I can say is this health insurance bill or speculation can go either way, but never both.
C/A1C Crapp Main topic or issue that has been going around is should people have Medicare or should people not have Medicare. I think people should get the medicare because if something happens to you then you won’t be charged or have to pay for any deductibles that comes with the medicare. People who don’t have medicare should really think about it because it will help you in the future. I really don’t know why people wouldn’t agree with this law because it’s a great law and shouldn’t be up for debate. This law could save you big money and can keep you from going into debt or bankruptcy. The medicare bill can be a life saver and can keep you from losing everything that you own. This healthcare bill is the probably the best thing that has happened to some people and some of the Americans should start to realize that and get on board with this bill, unless they want to be broke. I support this healthcare bill 100% and I feel that this is what we need to save some of our people.

The new Health Care Bill aka Obamacare has been controversial topic ever since it was proposed. During these past few weeks the constitutionality has been a by the Supreme Court. This "Obamacare" has its pros and cons, The bill states that all people will have health care no matter what pre existing medical conditions and person may have making it sounds like in the famous words of Don Corlene " An offer we just can’t refuse" but with all good things there is catch. If you refuse to "buy into" Obamacare you have to pay a hefty fine and also this health care bill is just too big of a financial risk for our country and could cost states billions of dollars that they just don’t have. With the passing of this new bill taxes would be imposed on disability checks and of course taxes period will go up. Also this Obamacare goes against one of the main principle of why our country fought for its independence: The freedom of choice, even though it is not stated in the bill of rights it is at its most center core of it and is the main reason it was created. if this bill is passed our government will be destroying the freedom of making our own choices make us like and infant child to our government. In closing even though this Obamacare does have its advantages the risk is too great to take and the constitutionality of it is a “shakey” matter.
Cadet Leslie Stone,
Like any other bill, Obama's health care bill (Obamacare) has both positive and negative effects. If this bill was passed it could change America in one of two ways: for the better or for worse. The Obamacare bill requires that every American citizen must buy health insurance. This is understandable in the fact that people with health insurance will not have to pay large amounts of money when medical care is given.
There are not many pros to this plan. The Obamacare plan does help people who are not insured but many people can not afford it (hence the reason they are uninsured). Whether the healthcare insurance is in their budget or not, if they do not buy it, then they will be penalized. Anyone in their right mind would know that if one thing is not affordable that something more expensive is also not affordable.
I myself personally believe heathcare should be optional. It is my right as an American citizen to choose how I want to live and I do not believe the government should tell me what to buy and when. If I choose to not have health insurance from a certain company or not at all that should be MY choice. I also disagree with non-American citizens getting healthcare and into college for free. What is wrong with this guy? Did becoming president make this guy go insane and need a trip to the crazy house? There is no set goal in passing this bill unless the government is getting most of that money to pay off our debt. Which in that case, I believe we should just legalize marijuana and let the pot heads do their own thing and pay off our debt while the rest of us attempt to bring up the economy. We don't need them anyway... THE END. PROBLEM SOLVED!
Cadet Ponce
President Obama thinks that everyone needs to have health care or pay a fine. In my opinion I completely disagree. The government shouldn’t be telling us Americans what to do or not to do. They shouldn’t have control of things like whether we want health care or not because we live in a constitutional monarchy not a dictatorship. Not everyone believes in health care, some people can’t afford it and it should be up to us if we want to spend our money on health care. Some people have families they need to feed and take care of and are working their butts of just to do that! Not everyone has the privilege of having enough money to spend for things like health care, yes I do understand that health care can help in the long run but not everyone understands this. I just think it is un-constitutional for the government to tell us what we need to do and to force us to do it even if we don’t want too. If someone wants to get health care, more power to them but like I said not everyone can afford it! I honestly think health care IS a good idea because it helps you in case you or a family member gets severely injured and you don’t have enough money and that is kind of why I’m split but I’m more of not for it than I am for it not just because of cost issues, some people just don’t want health insurance.
Cadet k.stone
Some people agree with the health care plan and some people disagree. but it really depends on the information you gather up. for example: in science some people are for global warming and some people are against. If you wanna prove nothings wrong and nothings going to happen then you would have to find evidence. and for the supplies the government would pay for you. Then you would have a debate on if your okay or not. but, i think the heath care plan should be denied because its basically saying that if they don't pay the fee then they would have to pay a bigger fine. so you can't go off of what other people say because you have to gather information from both point of veiws and i have looked at both the pros and the cons of this health care plan and i still don't agree with it are they gonna come hunt you down if you dont pay. like not all these people have that much money. if they went to college and then got a good job then yah they might have that kind of money. but some people don't have that kind of advantage. but like master sgt. griep told me you have to see the prospective of both sides before you make your own opinion. i don't agree with obama's health care plan thats my opinion and im totally stickin with it not lettin anyone change my mind! shaking my head :)

I think Barak H. Obama's "obama care" should be vetoed because we cant all can fork out a bunch of cash just to pay for a health care.
Most people can not afford to eat healthy, let alone pay out of pocket for health coverage. If you dont buy the coverage you get a fine that is almost twice the cost of the flat fee of the care.
My family gets $69 for four people, and one of my "neighbors" gets $948 just five people, and 75% of that money goes towards drugs. One of the five lives in georgia, and if all that money goes to drugs,
I dont know how theyre going to afford "Obama Care." Now when you cant afford "Obama Care" and you miss a month of payment you get penalized for not paying, you get a fine for twice the price of the care.
Obama care is wrong because how can you be forced to pay a fine when you cant afford to pay the health care bill, you have to pay a fine that is twice the cost of the bill.

My opinion towards the whole new health care , obamacare and medcare mess is kinda confused and in the middle about things because if you can't afford then why have it. Even tho in life it's needed, don't make the tax payers already pay for the people who can't afford it , everyone had oppuertunatity's doing something with their life. If they wanna make something of their life and get health and all this other mess then let them do it don't put that down fall on the ones who do things in life. Because you can't force people to buy something that they don't want or nessarley need. As I was reading on "post opinions" , it says that : Obamacare requires states cover all persons with incomes up to 138 percent and the goverment will cover increased prices untill 2016. In realitity its costing states billions of dollars as I reading about 26 percent of Florida’s budget goes for Medicaid, if the state lost federal funds it would require 60 percent of all tax revenue to maintain today’s pre-Obamacare benefits. That's crazyyy in politcal , insurance terms ,all im saying is obama has done a well , confusing job as president and if he is re-elected as president then I think he should fix all this . Because in the long run he could end up having alot of tax payer pretty heated , If knew more about all this medcare, obamacare mess I would have a better opinion about this but i'm still kinda confused so i hope this kinda helped. (:

So a subject in school came up and its about the health care bill. I think its just plain stupid. Its not fair to the people who cant afford it. What if one day something really bad happens to them and they go to the ER get the treatment they need then get the bill and see’s the bill and they cant pay it. If they cant pay it you send them to jail. You help all these other people who don’t need it but you don’t want to help the people who will try to pay it off by payments. But its then again the people who can afford it gets mad because we pay extra money for taxes and the 10% goes to the health care. So give it to the people who have a job and is trying and not just sitting on their butt all day long. Obama doesn’t know how to work the money in my eyes. He just gives it away without even thinking. and it sucks because if you don’t pay the bill you could go to jail. But if you put them in jail your not going to get the money because you put them in jail so they cant work. What kind of person are you going to be if you put somebody in jail because there trying hard. Sometimes they have more than one job and have kids they have to support. I can see if there walking around with gucci or something but there not. You help the people who does wear name brand. The reason why they are is because your giving them money and the don’t need it. So that is how i feel about this.
C/ Watkins
Honestly, I know very little about this Health Care Reform Bill because I’m not a news guy. But while in class I learned that Obama is trying to make everyone have health care insurance. In MY OPINION I believe that everyone should have health care for reason like it could help you in any accidents or problems you run into without having to come out of your butt to get the money. But I also heard in class that he’s hurting some families which is not a good thing because if you’re going to come up with a bill, you should at least make sure its beneficial to more than majority of the people. The Health Care requires states to cover all persons with incomes up to, effectively, 138 percent of the poverty level. But even with the federal government paying most of the costs, in many states their portion of Medicaid costs is the largest item in their budgets, even exceeding education. Now from knowing that it would cost most states billions of dollars especially cause it would leave lots of poor people without affordable care. But I doubt this bill is going to be passed for the fact that some judges already agree with most Americans that’s against the bill. So if Obama loses this debate for the passing of the bill I believe he’s not going to win the next election. I also wonder did he ever think of what is majority of the people can’t afford the bill, what is he going to do then and what is he going to do to make up for that?
Cadet Cooks,
Obama is trying to get everyone to buy health insurance and if not tax them at the end of the year. In my opinion I feel that if everyone doesn't wan insurance then so be it. For starters, every human being cannot afford health insurance and secondly it is their choice. Everyone knows the risk if they don't have it and how any medical need for attention is coming out of their pocket. That is the risk that the ones that aren't goinq to buy the health insurance. I understand the point that Obama is trying to make with the haelth insurance and at the end it will help our US and individuals. Obama is a great president and he has done nothing but help the US. These past four years, Obama has stepped up and fixed a lot of the mess that we was in before his presidency. Health care insurance isn't a bad ideal and it has a great meaning behind it but no matter how much Obama explains it and break it down, everyone won't look at it the same and not everyone will be able to afford it at thee same time.

I believe that the health car plan is not a real good idea at all because making people buy something that they cant afford. It will make us my generation we will be paying for all this and I looked up somethings and sound like some will have pay more to make up for the people who cant pay what is with that just going make people rage and get angry at the gov.THEY ARE MAKING PEOPLE BUY SOMETHING OR THEY WILL BE FINED.I think that this heath care LAW is not right so will be taxed more so will be fined and don’t have money pay the fine or bill I wonder what going to happen when they notice that the missed up the united states. Take 10 freaking years of taxs pay one heath care bill really. I will be like 25 and we will be paying off bill in 2014 . I want to spend my money on what I want not what someone tell me put the money that I earned my hard working money!!! I would like go in the military so I will do more rescreach on this bill but I just want to talk about what I think I really hope that this does not go throw at all because I don’t want to be paying this off when we all ready have pay over $10 billion I want kick back and drive tanks or work on tanks or cars if I get hurt ohhh well I will pay but I don’t want to be forced!! Pay this is a bad idea for the united states!! Hope you read this Obama. i feel bad for people that have pay more taxs and companys if it get passed becuse its stuiped!!!!!

So I hear there a rumor going around about this new health care law?? Oh joy this should be fun to talk about on a rainy day, put it like this new law is suppost to make sure everybody has health insurance kind of like no child left behind but also alot of money wasted for the goverment. Well preident Obama wants to everybody to have health insurance or you can just pay a big fine about it, he is saying anyone or anybody can get it rather your from this state or not, your gunna be coverd. Problems its coming out your pocket anyways which are tax dollors. If you buy health insurance on your own, and have insurance through your employer, or can't get or afford insurance, or have Medicare, the health care law may affect you. By understanding what's in the law, you can make better health care choices for you and your family. The health insurance companies can no longer drop your health coverage if you become sick. Your children can be on insurance in tell there 26 years old, thats along time intell they have to get there own insurance and pay them self but the money still coming out of your mom and dad pocket. So to me I think my feeling kind of even about this law, its a big choose to make, put it like this do you want the new law to be pasted because you know you will be covered but still the goverment wasting alot of money or say no to law and not everybody be cover with it and still wasted alot of money. Its a pick and choose deal to me.!!!!

I would have to say that I am at an impasse, because I support the health care cause of the fact that it lets minors stay on health care that their parents have till the age of 21. But I am against it because it is in fact in my views unconstitutional. For the number one and major role reason, there is no reason that we should have to buy health insurance on the government’s whim. If they can force us to buy this then what is stopping them from controlling everything in our lives in like let’s say ten years. So yeah I change what I said. I am opposed to this idea. The government has no right to tell us what we can and can’t buy or we must pay a fine. That just isn’t fair. Cause for one if the people who just cant afford health insurance can’t even buy it and you say oops sorry you didn’t buy what the law said you must have you got to pay the fine. Well if they couldn’t even buy the insurance what in blazing creations makes the government think that person will be able to pay that fine. If you ask me the government has some seriously jacked up, super, royal, colossal issues and needs to find some therapy because they really need their brains fixed. Cause if their trying to help the people they have some things to find out because what this law is doing is basically taking people and positioning them in a way that is against a strong government. so unless they plan to create a dictatorship or a communist country, which might I add I will leave the country if that happens, they have right to tell or dictate to me into what I am or I am not going to buy this is America. I live as a national citizen. I have every right to say this…….. Sorry JROTC… and I beg ya’lls pardon but
Forget you government do not tell me what it is I am going to be doing. I am not a slave I am not a possession so back off!!! NOW!
Okay that is all.

Obama Health Care is not the best, I say this because not everyone can afford it. A lot people think okay, well that’s their fault if they cant afford it, no one told them to buy that or choose that life. To me that’s not the point, the point is when someone is use to giving a certain amount of their pay check up to pay for the things they need like their utilities and someone just comes out of no where and throws a extra $600 bill in to their monthly duties, some cant afford it. I mean don’t get me wrong I think that its good for everyone to have health insurance but if they cant pay for it, they should not be penalized. When your use to dividing your pay check up to pay for your different bills and you have just enough to get by, you cant manage another bill. Our peers that go around saying “oh well that’s they problem” don’t really understand, and wont until they get older and start paying their own bills. Its not as easy as they think. Adults have a lot of pressure and I feel as if Obama’s Health Care is just adding on to that pressure. Hopefully this health care doesn’t go through, there is already a lot going on in the world and the last thing we need is more problems and that’s all this will do is add more flames to the fire that’s already started.

Although there are many reasons why Obama’s health care plan would work or why it wouldn’t work, but I say it wouldn’t. Why? Because I know Obama wants to help America but he can’t force it upon us. His care plan is for the better of America, but will it solve problems for those who don’t have health insurance? Maybe yes or maybe no. Either way if this plan is adopted or not it will affect our population, poor and rich. Our nation has been together because we as humans have the right to choose what we want for our lives. Allowing Obama’s plan would just throw that away, which is against our constitution! Our freedom of speech and civil rights! I have just looked at some videos about “Obama care.” One was about comments from a U.S. Senate Republican Leader named Mitch McConnell. He made a speech at the Supreme Court agreeing to hear a challenge on Obama’s plan; he said that the plan was unconstitutional. Another speaker was Senator Dick Durbin; he asked if we wanted the insurance companies to deny coverage. “Is that too much government?” he asked, to end his speech. Based off the way he said it he doesn’t find Obama’s plan a very good idea for the United States. So there for I agree with what both of them say. As I said before it goes against what our nation had decided years ago, FREEDOM OF SPEECH and or our CIVIL RIGHTS. That’s my opinion on it and we have different views. What’s your view?

I personally believe that every working class individual shouldhave at least some type of insurance on both themselves and their belongings. For some time, Congress has been debating whether to enforce strict regulations on many working class people that do not have insurance or simply cannot afford it. Many people have argue that these regulations are simply unconstitutional and hurt the very well-being of many workig class citizens. Although I personally believe that it is a persons own free will as to having insurance or not, I also feel that many individualsshould be well aware of the risks and dangers of not being fully covered by some form of insurance. Many situations in which you or another person is injured while in your person, many times the main party is held accountable and is looked for as for payement of any compensation. With a simple insurance plan these compensations could be easily handled with no questions asked however, with no insurance these "accidents" could turn into a great deal. Many times a person with no insurance is often more then likely to face legal reimbursment in order to pay for any damages that are caused, usually doubling or tripling in value the that of an original insurance plan. Many of these legal debates cannot simply be settled by a large sum of money and end up causing greater financial hardship then if covered by simple insurance. Although I feel that it is the choice of the individual as to whether to have insurance, I also feel that one should be aware of the large risks that are involved by not having a proper insurance plan.

After watching the cartoon video from CNN and discussing with my parents and a few of their friends i have concluded that Obamacare has both good sides and bad sides. One of the examples i will use to defend my position is that , a person who is not that wealthy is probably struggling financially as it is. But if they are barely getting by i don’t know why Obama would propose something to rise the insurance cost (if they had cheaper insurance before) so people will probably go into more debt than they probably already are. And I don’t understand why he would force someone to pay for something that they can’t afford and then just slap them in the face even harder if they get penalized for not having it. But then again I do see where he is coming from because if us as tax payers are paying for other peoples health issues it would seem just to make them get insurance. Plus something that i feel really strong that the Supreme court should take into consideration is that it is not constitutional. Our country wasn’t founded on the power to the government or one single person (a dictator). So why should the we have to be forced to do something by a single person or government. I feel like this whole “Obamacare” is unconstitutional. I think that the Supreme Court will hopefully realize this and not allow the bill to be passed for that reason.
I don’t really know much about this Obama Health Care Plan, but the very little knowledge I have from it is. That he wants everyone here in America to have it. Well I think there’s a good and bad side to this: The good side of it is that it’s an easier way to help people who need, pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, chiropractic, nursing, allied health, or some other providers. It can limit out of pocket spending allowing Americans health security. Makes it easier on smaller businesses so they are able to afford coverage to their employees. The bad side of the healthcare plan is: Many people that have Medicaid &food stamps aren’t going to have access to it to those two anymore. A large percentage of Americans rely on this. The ultimate sad part about it is, families that can’t afford the health care insurance will be penalized in whatever form the gov’t chooses. All you’re doing is making their pockets fatter while the ones who can barely keep their head above water suffer. How do you think this is going to work out for hose that living low-income housing? 65% of the people that live in section 8 housing (better known as “Low Income Housing”) all don’t have well-paying jobs. Personally I think there should be a national survey o about this health care plan. I understand and respect that President Obama had very good intentions, but I thought he was for the people?

I think Obama Health Care bill is not the best idea at all. The money it going to cost is too much and adding another deduction in citizens hard earns pay, with a coverage they do not want. Not only does it cost ridiculous amounts it put “us” in hardship. Families suffer a greater upset due to the kids plus themselves. It’s hard enough dealing with today’s taxes, gas prices, insurance, bills, loans, etc. that people adjust to paying adding this going to make living even more stressful and even more demanding. The cases when health care is necessary but let the person choose not the government that takes the power out the people. Which is not constitutional the last time I checked the constitution? It helps the people then it deprives them of much more. The supreme court knows it’s not right and shouldn’t past it or imp going to be having less food and Christmas going to look un-gravy for me. I don’t think they full understand the exists of this proposal will do to to to the pockets of Americans and even business. People going to spend less money and make less each month due to the Medicare care cost. My mom even spoke of failure of the bill. I want to sit home and enjoy some basketball game and not worry about cuts being made due to the government making cover my healthy self, but if you can afford it get it then but don’t force to get that expense care.
I think that the health care plan should be approved in ways and dropped in ways. It should be approved because it will make sure everyone gets health care. That way if something happens to someone then their family won’t have to pay a lot of money because they did have health care. The plane is to have every buy the lowest level of insurances by 2014. If you don’t have the insurances by then you will have to pay a fine which would be about the cost of the premium basic packet. For example they think that only 80% will have the health care plan. I think that it is bad because it makes people have to pay more than they would if they would have bought the low price health care. I makes no since to me why if they don’t have the low price then why would you charge them more. If you’re going to charge tem then you should make them pay a lower price than when they start to get more money they could have to put a little extra in to repay. If this passes then this would cost states billions of dollars. For example 26% of Florida’s budget is going to Medicare. If this health care passes ten it would be 60% of Florida’s budget. This case is a very big deal because it is good and bad both ways. If we drop the health care then not everyone will have health care. If we get it then that’s more money. I would have to say I would like to see it dropped.

The topic for this week is the Health Care Bill and if you support it or not, well i say no and here is why. With Obama's new health care bill they are basically forcing insurance companies to give people who cant afford health care "freebies" that must be payed by somebody else. That somebody else would be people who work there butt off but now they have to pay for somebody else's health care which isn't right. I read in a article that insurance company's would want to raise there rates higher than before because of this. Now if you cant pay for the health care then your going to get fined and have to pay this instead of having health insurance instead which is dumb. The people who can actually afford it should not be punished with even higher rates just because they can get up in the morning and do there job. Everybody else who is just sitting around and doing other stuff instead of finding something beneficial to do should not be getting free stuff handed to them just because they didn't work hard enough to get a better job. I think that health care should be your own choice and if you want to pay for it or not should just be up to you. Lastly the thing that came to my attention is that i don't understand how this is suppose to get of out of this giant debt our economy has because its bad enough. So in my opinion they should get rid of it.

Obama care is a very hot topic right now in today’s society. I feel that it is honestly not a good idea. I know people who can’t afford insurance and why would you make someone pay for insurance that they can’t afford? I know that some people don’t want insurance so why would you make them? This is supposed to be a free country. Forcing people to pay for insurance that seems dumb to me would be ridiculous. Obama needs to get out of office in my opinion he is trying to make this an equal society that honestly would be good idea but is impossible to make. Perfect is in no humans nature. Some people have more money than others and they can pay for special insurance and the people who don’t have as much money won’t be able to pay for that same insurance. So why not just let people do things on their own. Don’t force them to do stuff they don’t want to. It’s their choice not Obama’s. I think that we need to stand up to this new Obama care and change it. Show Obama that this is not what the people want and honestly that is what a president should do. He need to find out what the people want and proceeded on that. He is making these rediculous laws that need to be stopped. I say we need to put someone new in office that isn’t going to force people to do stuff they don’t want to.

Do I agree with Obama’s new health care law? I don’t agree with the new law what so ever. I think that it is done & pointless. If people can’t afford health care now, what makes him think that they can afford it then? Obama should not be able to force somebody to but health care or be fined. It doesn’t make since to fine somebody who can’t afford to pay health care yet a fine. Next year when I am able to get a job, I don’t want majority of my money to go towards people who can’t afford health care. We are making up for what Obama is doing. It is coming out of our pay check. I PERSONALLY don’t think that the new law is going to do much; I think that it is going to be a much stronger law that is going to be broken like every other law. A lot of people that are on medicate aren’t even trying to get jobs to pay for their own… so I doubt in a year that they are going to be working even harder to find a job. Obama needs to look at the whole picture, the whole situation. What is going to be the consequence for not paying the fine that you got of not getting medical insurance? Will the people be placed in jail until somebody can pay it for them, or will they just not be able to go to the hospital until they have health insurance? Obama needs to think about these things before he puts the law in affect. I can’t wait to see what the Supreme Court decision is (;
C/D.Brown
I think Obamas health care plan is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. I do not see why everyone has to have health insurance, because not everyone gets hurt. And besides most people who do not have health insurance can not afford it, so they could not get it if they wanted to. And in this health care plan if you do not have health insurance you get fined. It makes it seem like Obama is trying to take everybody's money. To me this whole health care plan is retarded, and Obama will not get re-elected into office. And if this health care plan passes, then expect the country to be in major turmoil, because I do not think everyone is going to be happy about it.
Cadet Attridge,
I believe that we shouldn’t have to be told to buy health insurance from the government. It should continue to be our own choice. If we make the choice to not buy it and willing to pay for the fines from hospitals and personal doctors then we should. What I see is that the only good thing about Obama’s Healthcare plan, is that everyone will be covered with medical. He hasn’t done us much good in the past four years. The major thing that he has done, was finally get our troops to kill Osama Bin Laden. He wants to downsize the Army to cut down on defense cuts. He wants to do this healthcare, which would make it worse on us as citizens. Some cons are that, no one knows how long it will last before the people go bankrupt. We are already in a lot of debt to other nations, and making our own people go into debt with “our” government would just make us look bad. We already have other countries that still are pissed at us and would like to kill our people. But Obama doesn’t let the people have a voice in what they think should happen. He does mostly everything on his own terms.
Did us as Americans make a mistake by electing a colored man as president? Because what he is doing is pretty much unconstitutional. Its very wrong to take some ones rights away by making pay for things they don’t want to. I personally will by health insurance when I do get older, but not because the government wants me to. But because I want to, so I don’t take any chances of something wrong to happen to me. If this bill goes through, then they should at least make health insurance buyable for just about everyone. Not just the people in the middle or upper class. Some lower class people would want health insurance but it would cost to much. So they should at least lower it to where they can buy it too.
Cadet Gollyhorn
In my opinion, the Health Care Bill is a win-lose type of deal. The win part to the Health Care Bill pertains mostly to the middle and upper classes because they have the money to pay their taxes which some of it goes to their Health Care insurance so they can go into any local hospital and get treated for any injury or illness. Another win for these people is that since they can pay their taxes they will not have to pay a fee “as high as the annual premium on a basic insurance plan.”
The lose part of the Health Care Bill pertains mostly and almost COMPLETELY to the lower and poverty stricken class because they do not have the money to pay their taxes, which are supposed to go to the Health Care Bill. This is especially difficult for these people if they have children and they are trying to provide for their children. The even worse part about this is that the lower and poverty stricken people would have to pay and even greater fee for not paying their taxes. This makes it even more difficult to live and if they do not pay the fee they will get arrested and get separated from their children and families. There are only about 36 million poverty stricken citizens in America out of America’s total population of 313,303,000.
So in conclusion and in my opinion, the Health Care Bill is not such a good plan because with all the people that do not pay their taxes puts the United States in even more debt than we need to be, and putting the people that cannot pay the fee for not paying their taxes in jail is an even worse idea because the prison would have to use money that could be put towards the Health Care Bill to provide for their prisoners.
